Yayasan Titian Masa Depan, also known as Titian Foundation, was established by Lily Kasoem in 2006. She was the catalyst behind the project to rebuild Lamreh Village in Aceh that was destroyed by 2004 tsunami. Titian is a professionally managed voluntary organisation that focuses on helping the less fortunate Indonesians through the improvement of their education, knowledge and skills. Partnering with NGO’s governments, multinationals and local companies, Titian provides long-term sustainable support in communities which have been struck by poverty, disaster or conflict. Its involvement is to provide the tools for ongoing stability and self sufficiency.
In 2007, Titian Foundation rebuilt two schools in Bayat, Central Java which were devastated by the Jogja Earthquake. Titian Foundation is governed by a Board of Officers on pro bono basis. Numerous professional volunteers also lend their minds to develop and run various projects. All projects are funded by donation from companies and individuals. It is the mandate of The Foundation that 100% of donations received go directly to the projects.
We believe that the future belongs to the younger generation. There is no better inheritance we can leave them than education. Proper education is the key to securing a better life for oneself and the community.
